Why I'm Running

Alexandria is a community that believes in opportunity, inclusion, and looking out for one another. But too many families are struggling. Rising costs, overcrowded schools, long commutes, and a shortage of affordable housing are making it harder to build a life here in the neighborhoods we love.

I've spent my career solving complex problems and delivering results. From helping small businesses compete globally at the Commerce Department, to improving healthcare for Veterans, to empowering immigrant families to advocate for their children's education, I know what it takes to fight for working families.

As a member of the Alexandria City School Board, I worked to close the achievement gap and ensure every child—regardless of zip code, background, language, or ability—has access to excellent public schools. Tenants and Workers United recognized me as Education Advocate of the Year for that work, but I know there's much more to do.

The 5th District needs a Delegate who will fight for affordable housing, fully funded schools, accessible healthcare, and support for our federal workforce. I'm ready to get to work.
